How to Use Classroom Screen Templates

Save time by using pre-made layout templates. Learn how to open, customize, and save smart board screens for your class.

Starting with Pre-Built Layouts

Setting up your smart board layout every morning can be time-consuming. To save time, MyClassScreen offers a library of pre-built, teacher-designed templates for common routines—like morning meetings, center rotations, silent reading, and spelling tests.

How to Open and Use a Template

1

Browse the Templates Library

Go to myclassscreen.org/templates to explore the template library, categorized by routines like daily screens, SEL, games, and brain breaks.

2

Open a Layout

Click on any template card to open it directly in the app. The board loads with the chosen background and pre-arranged widgets.

3

Customize the Setup

Make adjustments to suit your class: type details into text boxes, enter student names in the picker, set timer durations, or reposition widgets.

4

Save to Your Profile

Click the Save icon in the top toolbar to store the customized template to your profile, ready to open instantly tomorrow morning.

Creating Your Own Custom Templates

If you want to design a custom template from scratch:

  1. Open a clean canvas at app.myclassscreen.org/board.
  2. Arrange your favorite widgets (e.g. Timer, Noise Meter, Clock).
  3. Upload a custom background image using the settings sidebar.
  4. Click Save, give it a name (e.g. "Science Lab Setup"), and save it to your free profile.
